 | Q - Can I buy your Ingredients cheaper?
A - We genuinely dont think so. People make a mistake and think that naturals are all the same they are not. You can buy chamomile essential oil in supermarkets and you can buy chamomile in specialist shops they are not likely to be the same. To say chamomile is like saying apple. When you buy apples you dont buy any old apple do you? Some are cookers, some are good for keeping some are better tasting or crisp or sweet etc. its the same with herbs and oils. The supermarkets just make money often from the poorest crops. We only use a quality that exactly fits our purpose and no compromise to price. If you cant afford the best we just have to say sorry but cheap is not the same. We want activity not a label claim.
You dont really use mashed up herbs in your product the actual herb is thrown away at the end of the process or used to make compost. Rather you use extracts. Its like making tea and coffee. You can have lousy coffee and poor tea. When you use water to extract you get different goodies (actives) out of the herb than if you use oil, alcohol or propylene glycol. These materials including water are called solvents. For example some vitamins are soluble in water such as vitamin C (an immune booster) others are soluble in oil like the anti oxidant (anti- ageing) vitamin E. You have to choose the right extract for the job you cant just substitute one for another just for cheapness if you want it to work. All Make It & Co products contain the right actives to do the job not impress you with a long list of ingredients.
Q - Can I use your product if I have a nut or milk allergy?
A - Most allergies are caused by a failure in our digestive system to produce the right enzyme to break down a certain something such as a protein in milk. Our skin doesnt work like that. It does become sensitive to certain things and the only certain way of knowing is to do a little patch test. Place about a ten pence size patch on your inner arm and if after a few hours it hasnt gone red you should be fine.
Q - Your products especially Shampoos seem expensive to make up?
A - First of all our products are of the first quality and we must compare like with like. Shampoos in the supermarkets are mostly little more than a different dilution of similar stuff to washing up liquid or floor cleaner.
Most of our money saving kits gives you a surplus to make more. Take our shampoo kit. With whats provided plus another base you end up with at least 250mls shampoo. This makes the hair treatment just on £12 which is what you would expect to pay for a luxury shampoo plus you still have enough lavender, the most expensive ingredient left over, to make another 20 bottles!! So buy some more base and the total price comes down again!
Similar things can be said for creams. A good cream these days costs between £20 to £45 pound for 50ml. The Anti age special creams sometimes much higher. Our smooth day cream gives you enough material for another 9 pots of cream. All you have to do is buy the extra bases and they only cost you £6.75. So if you work it out an average pot of this cream is around £8. Now that is a saving!! | |
